Our brand new GCSE equivalent (level 1 / 2) course for home educated students wishing to study games design. The OCR Creative iMedia courses allow students interested in a coursework based qualification to study the aspects of media, graphics, and games development in a similar format to a BTEC through two tutor-led coursework units and a final exam.

This two year course is aimed at students aged 14-16, but we will accept enrolments from younger students and up to age 17. When enrolling, we do ask parents to bear in mind that this is a media based course and students will be required to play games and watch short films designed for the intended age group.

As with all of our distance learning courses, the iMedia Games Design course is supported by live lessons and an online platform for study - students do not need additional course books and are provided with a student licence for both our graphics & games development package within the course fees.

Students are guided through this study course by our “little and often” study plan:

Group lessons take place via Zoom with a maximum group size of 10 to allow all students to participate fully.

As coursework must be authenticated, we are unable to offer an option for recorded lessons only for this course.

This is full course & includes coursework marking & authentication in the cost. Parents are responsible for registering with an appropriate exam centre - at present, we are fully authenticated with Tutors & Exams, but we are happy to work with other centres where requested.
