Welcome to TeachAllAboutIt! My name is Holly and I am the owner and tutor for TeachAllAboutIt.
I’m a qualified Computer Science teacher, and also home educated my own children through GCSEs and beyond. Since leaving the traditional classroom in 2019, I’ve worked with BBC Bitesize, BCS, and Cambridge Press as an author, published my own revision guides, am an A Level Computer Science examiner, and worked with the National Centre for Computing Education as a Computing Facilitator (trainer).
Whether you work with me 1-2-1 or through my courses, most of your learning will be accessed through my website where each lesson has been designed to guide you
through your course on a weekly schedule.
This guide has been designed to show you how to access your course, lessons, and get help from me during your course.
If you have any questions before, or during your course, please get in touch:

If you’re already logged into your parent account, enrolling a child on a course is as simple as making a purchase online. To register as a parent, please use the next section “How Do I Register?”)
Navigate to the course that you want to enrol on and you’ll see an enrolment box to the right (this will be at the bottom of the screen on mobiles).
In here, select the number of students that you want to enrol and click “Add to basket”.
For all full GCSE, iMedia, and A Level courses, a deposit of 10% is taken at enrolment with 9 further equal monthly instalments invoiced from the start date of your course.
Once you have completed the checkout process, your place will be reserved.
To enable me to provide course access and feedback to families, I request that parents create an account before enrolling on a course or tuition for students under 18. This will be connected to a child account where you can view progress and assign courses.
If you are not already registered, you can create a parent account using the form below:
I want every student to have the best possible experience when studying with TeachAllAboutIt. To help you start your course, please look through the checklist to help you prepare:
✅ I’ve logged into my account and checked that I can open my course (these are available from mid-July for September start or from enrolment for self-study)
✅ I’ve found the student Q&A at the front of my course & know how to ask Holly for help
✅ I’ve read the student code of conduct policy
✅ I’ve tested Google Meet on my device (& installed Chrome – recommended)
✅ I’ve found the Live Lesson links on my online course
✅ I have the equipment I need:
You can see all of your courses and profile information at www.TeachAllAboutIt.uk/portal
All students will have an account on my website when signing up to a course. Please keep your login details safe.
Your course will show shortly before your lessons commence. Please check your email for enrolment confirmation.
Parents can create their child accounts directly, or I can help you to create these. Please check that you have access to both your parent and child accounts before the course starts.
You’ll find the login section to the right on desktop/laptop and at the bottom of the screen on mobile.
Logging into your website account will change this section to reveal buttons that give you access to two areas :
The “My Tuition Account” will give you access to your 1-2-1 lesson links, allow you to book and manage your lessons.
The “My Courses” takes you to your dashboard for your distance learning.
For most courses, lessons are released weekly throughout your course. Please allow 7 working days for marking to be returned – usually, I mark each Friday afternoon, but this may take a little longer at busy exam marking or coursework times.
The dashboard under My Courses will show you the courses that you’re actively studying (if you’ve enrolled for a future course, this will show close to your start date). This dashboard will also show your Quizzes with tutor feedback and conversations in the Q&A sections of your courses.
Click on a course to open the course pages.
If you’d like to personalise your profile, image, or change your password, you can do this by clicking the “Settings” link.
When creating an account or enrolment, please note that the main name on the account will be the one that shows on lesson / course information. These can be updated through your profile.
If you are enrolling more than one child, please create a separate account for each child using your parent login – If you don’t see this option in your “My Courses” account when you log in, please contact me at hello@teachallaboutit.uk.
When setting an email address, this will be the email where lesson reminders and tutor feedback will be sent.
The website is separated into two areas: 1-2-1 tuition and courses
If you are attending group tuition / courses, you’ll access your profile details through the “My Courses” yellow button. This will take you to the new student dashboard.
In this area you can also see your quiz / assignment feedback and any questions or discussions that you’ve had in your courses.
To update your profile information, click on “Settings”. In here, you can updated your visible name, contact details, and set the name that will show next to your comments (I recommend setting this to just your first name – please do not set this as your username).
If you are using an account that is used to book individual tuition, you will be able to access lesson details and links using the “My Tuition Account” yellow button.
To view lessons with the next lesson at the top, click on the “Date” heading to reorder. Click on the blue “Google Meet” button to start your lesson.
To update your tuition profile, please click on the “profile” tab and enter / change any of the details that you wish to update. Please note that these changes won’t currently link to your online course – we are current working on linking these.
All of our live lessons are held on Google Meet. During live lessons, students can communicate in the way that makes them most comfortable. Cameras / Microphones are not required aside from a short check for coursework lessons.
During live lessons, all learners are given access to an individual set of collaborative notes either on Classkick or through Google Drive. These are shared between you and your tutor – other learners cannot see your work.
Links for each class are shown in your online course and can also be seen in the calendar view of your “My Courses” screen.
If you know in advance that you’ll be absent from a lesson, please let your tutor know by email.
Group classes are recorded and made available to you after each lesson through your course. In the Lesson Recordings section of your course, click on the link next to the lesson you wish to catch up with.
If you have a question about the recorded lesson, please use the lesson’s Q&A to add a question.
If you are using an account that is used to book individual tuition, you will be able to access lesson details and links using the “My Tuition Account” yellow button.
To view lessons with the next lesson at the top, click on the “Date” heading to reorder. Click on the blue “Google Meet” button to start your lesson.
If you see the message “you do not have permission to view this screen“, your account is not linked to a booking. Please try the following, and if this does not solve the issue please contact your tutor.
Many of my online courses include assignments that are returned to you with personalised feedback. The guides below show you how to upload your work and see the feedback from your tutor.
When you click on a course assignment, you will be shown details of what you need to do, the maximum marks, and the pass mark. The pass mark shown is the minimum grade to pass the assignment, not your personal goal.
At the bottom of the assignment page, you’ll be able to download any extra documents for your assignment. If you are studying GCSE or A Level courses, this will be particularly relevant.
When you’re ready to upload or start writing your assignment, click the “Start Assignment Submit” button at the bottom of the assignment page.
On the submission page, you can choose to upload your assignment as a document, or type your answers into the text box.
Important: if you upload your assignment, you must write something in the text box! (“Assignment uploaded” is fine)
When you are ready, click the “Submit Assignment” button. Please wait for this to be fully submitted as larger assignments may take some time. When your assignment has been successfully submitted, you will see a status box at the top of the assignment page.
A Result of Pending means that your tutor has been notified and they will mark your work soon.
Once your assignment has been marked, you’ll get an email with your tutor feedback and a link to the “Assignment Review” – this review will also show your grade for the assignment.
The Assignment Review button will take you to the front of your course. On here, select the “Gradebook” tab. Your gradebook will show you the result of all your assignments and give you a link to read any feedback from your tutor. As you submit more assignments, the “final grade” at the top will give you an indication of how well you have done throughout the course.
Please remember that the final grade is a prediction, not your final exam grade!
As part of our online courses you can generate a report card based on the quizzes and assignments that you have completed so far.
Once your assignment has been marked or a quiz is completed, you’ll get an email with your tutor feedback and a link to the “Assignment Review” – this review will also show your grade for the assignment.
The Assignment Review button will take you to the front of your course. On here, select the “Gradebook” tab.
To create your report card, log into a course that you’re enrolled on and click the “Generate Gradebook” – you’ll only need to do this once for each course that you enrol onto.
You’ll see the grade given for each quiz / assignment that you’ve completed and your average overall course grade (this is a mean average of all your grades).
The grade shown here is an indicator of internal assessment designed to help with EHE reports and has no affect on your final grades. Please ensure that you have registered with an exam centre for exams & coursework in good time.
Our office hours are shown below, but please bear in mind that we may be teaching and unable to respond immediately.

Office Hours:
I try to be as flexible as possible with distance learning payments and offer monthly, and half termly instalment options based on preference.
1-2-1 tuition is invoiced monthly prior to lessons. You can view and manage your 1-2-1 lessons in your Tuition Account using the “My Tuition Account” yellow button from the home page once you are logged in.
Group Tuition | Fees |
GCSE / iGCSE Group | £15.00 per week |
A Level Group | £25.00 per week |
iMedia (L2) Group | £15.00 per week |
1-2-1 Tuition | £65 – £75 per hour |
I have worked hard over the past two years to ensure that I have not increased group fees and pass the increased cost of running onto learners. Part of this has been increasing group sizes and reducing the administration time for payments.
Please note, there is a waiting list for 1-2-1 tuition with Holly for 2024/25. To secure a place for September 2024, please enquire now. Alternatively, please book ad hoc 1-2-1 lessons through our online booking system.
Should your circumstances change during the course of an academic year, please do get in touch. Longer payment plans and concessions are available in exceptional circumstances.
For all courses except ICDL, you are responsible for booking your own exams and coursework registration with a chosen private exam centre.
Most exam centres will require you to register by January for a May/June exam, and by August for an Oct/Nov exam. I recommend that you register earlier than these dates, particularly if you are applying for exam concessions/access arrangements.
I am partnered with Tutors & Exams, but happy to work with other centres and schools (OCR iMedia must be agreed with your alternative centre before you enrol).
Please note that being partnered with a centre does not mean that I can book exams or coursework unit registration on your behalf. This remains your responsibility.
When booking exams for the courses I offer, you will require the following information:
T&E Partner code: TAAI21
Subject | Unit | Code |

CIE iGCSE Computer Science | n/a | 0984 (9-1) 0478 (A*-G) |

When booking exams for iGCSE Computer Science, you’ll see several different exam codes. All of these exams follow the same specification, but the way that you see your grade will be different.

An important part of my online courses is rewarding progress and persistence. If you’re trying your best, then we’ll be proud of you! As you complete sections of your course each year, you’ll be awarded badges from New Student to Graduate. These are awarded by me throughout the year with some extra fun badges created through the year.
Badges are not redeemable vouchers, but instead a way of acknowledging the hard work that you put into your courses.
