From April 2021 we moved over to our new student portal system which allows parents book and manage lessons in one place. The information below will show you how to access your account.

If you are not a current student of TeachAllAboutIt, Register Here

Log Into Your Student / Parent Portal

To help both students and parents make a smooth transition over to our new student portal, the guide below is being created to help you manage your account. This will be regularly updated to reflect any questions and queries that you have about using your account. Our new system is a tuition specific system through TutorBird and will help students, parents, and tutors to manage lessons.

Accessing Your Account

Log into your account though the login screen above. If it says that you’re already logged in, click the button that says “Login” and you will be directed to your account.

Tutor bird student portal dashboard

This will take you to your dashboard where you’ll be shown your attendance & feedback.

Your dashboard contains all of the important information about your upcoming lessons and feedback for your latest lessons. You can access all other areas using the menu to the left.

Booking Lessons

Your regular lessons will still be booked on your behalf and will appear as a list on the front page and also in your calendar. Extra available lessons with either your tutor or for groups will show in your calendar.

TutorBird Book Lesson

To book an extra lesson, click on the available lesson and select “Register”. Some lessons will be set to “Make-Up Credit Required” – these are created in the system by tutors when a student needs to reschedule a lesson and alternative times are offered. You will only be able to book these if lesson credits have been issued to you.

TutorBird Book Lesson 2

Once you have selected to register for a lesson, you will be asked to confirm your registration. Once you have clicked the green “Register” button, you have committed to purchasing this time with your tutor at your standard tuition rate (unless otherwise specified).

You will be sent an email reminder 24 hours before your lesson and a text 2 hours before your lesson where you have provided these details.

Attending A Lesson

For in-person lessons at the TeachAllAboutIt Tuition Centre, the location of your lesson will show as “Tuition Centre”. Please arrive promptly and sign in at the front desk as usual.

TutorBird Attend Lesson

For online lessons, your lesson link will show in your Student Portal Calendar. Click on the lesson that you are due to attend in your calendar and then again on the green “Online” link next to the location. This will open the Zoom classroom with your tutor – these are different for each tutor, so please ensure that you click on the link for the correct lesson.

Should you need to cancel a lesson, where your lesson is more than 3 working days ahead you will have the option of cancelling the lesson through the portal. This will create a lesson credit on your account to arrange with your tutor (please discuss this directly).

How To Use Miro

To make using our interactive whiteboard as easy as possible, we have created a short video to help you:

How To Pay For Lessons

In the same way as our previous system, lessons are payable each month / half term in advance unless an exception has been made. Invoices for regular lessons are sent out approximately 14 days prior to their due date which for monthly invoices is the 1st of the month.

TutorBird Profile Settings

We encourage parents to register a payment card on their profile to ensure that invoices and additional lessons are paid for automatically on the due date. This can be set up by clicking on Profile Settings in your parent / adult student account.

How Do I Contact My Tutor?

If you would like to send a message to your tutor, or have a question about your lessons / course, you can email the tuition centre at hello@teachallaboutit.uk. Alternatively, if you would like to send a message directly to your tutor, you can do this by adding a message through the Study Log (see below).

How To Upload Homework / Documents To The Study Log

During the course of tuition or coursework authentication, you may be asked to upload documents to your Student Study Log. This provides us with a secure place to save important documents and will also keep a date & time of when they were uploaded.

Tutorbird student study log

To access your study log from your student portal account, go to the Study Log menu on your student portal (also shown as a clock icon) on the left hand side of the screen.

Once in the Study Log, you will see a screen that shows you all of your currently uploaded documents and timed sessions. At the right hand of each log, there is an arrow that allows you to see more details for each task – this also allows you to download the documents that you added.

To start a timed activity, click the “Start Timer” button at the top left. This will start a timer for you and allow you to either type an answer directly into the screen, or upload your homework document at the end. This is really useful for timed activities and homework.

Finally, to simply upload a document, add homework, or send a message to your tutor, click the “Add Time” button. This will show you a simple upload screen that allows you to send documents to your tutor.

tutorbird study log detail

The study log provides you with a simple form to upload a file and / or send a message. Where you don’t need to record the time you spent studying, simply add a zero in the Duration box.

If you want a notification & your notes to be sent to your tutor by email (this will still save your file in the log), check the box next to the tutor that you want to email. This will notify them that you have added to your study log.

Trouble Accessing Emails

We are aware that some of our students / parents have had some issues with emails from our student portal being picked up as spam.

If You Use Outlook

tutorbird_spam_folder

If you are using Outlook for your emails and you think that you may have missed a message from us, it is entirely possible that it has gone into your spam email folder. To find missing emails, expand your Inbox in Outlook and click on the spam folder (shown to the left).

If you need to search through multiple emails, search for “Teachallaboutit” as a keyword.

Once you have located our email, right click on it and from the “Junk” menu, select “Never block Sender’s Domain”. This will ensure that all emails from worthing.teachallaboutit.uk are delivered to your inbox. You may wish to repeat this process for emails from tutorbird.com

If You Use Gmail

Gmail has a number of facilities that are designed to help you organise your messages including the Promotions Folder, but may in fact hinder by hiding important messages. If you are using gmail and cannot find one of our messages, please use the following guide:

tutorbird_email_in_promotion

If your email message has found it’s way into your spam folder, please use the same instructions above for Outlook by marking the message as “Not Spam” and adding us to your safe senders list. Alternatively, your message from us may be hidden in your “Promotions” folder.

tutorbird_email_move_primary

If this is the case, once you have located our message left click on our email and drag it into your “Primary” folder. This will prompt an extra pop up at the bottom of the screen that will ask if you wish to place all further emails from us directly into your primary inbox.

Logging Into Courses & Group Tuition

If you have enrolled onto a course, you will have access to an online area on the website which will include written & video lessons and record your progress. Your account will be active from the date of your first course invoice or payment.

The login for your course is separate to your Student Portal and is accessed using the login panel on the right bar of the website on the home page:

If you have forgotten or do not have access to your password, click on the forgotten password link and enter your email address. This will send you a password reset email (please check your spam folder).

TeachAllAboutIt Profile

Once you have logged in, you will see your profile and course links right there on the home page of the website. On here, you’ll be able to see your progress, tutor marking & feedback, and update your name / profile image through the “edit profile” link under your picture.

It’s incrediblyt helpful for your tutor to have a photo of you as part of your profile, but is not required.

To access your online course, simply click on the underlined name of the course & this will open in the “lesson screen”.

Your Course Layout

Over the 2021/22 academic year, we have been updating our online courses based on student feedback to make these more usable for you and your child. This year, you have fed back to us that you would like to see your progress and data in a more user friendly format and so we have been updating the look and feel of our courses to do just that.

Your profile will remain similar, but you will see more detail about your individual courses on this page. This includes your assignment results. To see more feedback from your tutor, click on the Comments.

Your Course Screen

Your course screen will look similar to the one that you are used to with a few small changes. You can now hide the course menu on the left to give you extra room on your screen, and see your course progress at the top. There is a small change to letting your tutor know that you’ve completed a lesson – you still need to click the “Mark Complete” at the top of the screen, but where a video is included in a lesson you must watch the video to the end first.

Uploading Assignments

Some of our end of topic assessments require you to upload a document as part of your assignment. You’ll see this at the bottom of the lesson as a file upload. Select the file from your computer using the ‘browse’ button on the left, then submit your assessment using the ‘upload’ button on the right.

Online Tests / Quizzes

Where an end of topic test is included, in the lesson you will see “Lesson Content” bar with the quiz icon (a cross & tick in a box). To start the assessment, click on the name of the quiz.

Courses - Online Tests

Completing a test is very similar to how we completed them before. You can save an online assessment as you go unless it is a timed assessment (you will see this at the start of the test). You can now flag questions to return to and see how far through an assessment you are.
