Already Enrolled? Click Here to go to your course (or access this through the “My Distance Learning” Menu)

Our IGCSE ICT course allows you to learn at your own pace, covering the key aspects of each of the three exam papers set by CIE, supported by qualified IT/Computer Science teachers.

As part of this distance learning course, students have the option to access a weekly live class (term time) covering different aspects of the course. Live classes are run by our IT specialist tutors and have been designed to give students the opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback on their progress.

Important note: Our course covers the course content, however students are responsible for registering with an exam center and ensuring that they have sufficient time to cover the course content prior to exams. It is recommended that you allow 180 learning hours for a GCSE course, usually over the course of 18 – 20 months. You are signing up for the distance learning option with pre-recorded & weekly live group lessons during term time – live lessons are not recorded but are open for students to attend supporting them with different aspects of the course each week. Should you wish to sign up for distance learning only (no live classes) reducing the price to £30 per month, please click here. Once registered, you will have access to the full course which covers all topics for the iGCSE ICT and is aimed at the full 120 – 180 hours of study required for a full GCSE. This includes:

  • Video lessons from a specialist IT tutor
  • Weekly (term time) live group classes with our specialist tutor
  • Written content and downloadable tasks / worksheets
  • Assessment opportunities (through quizzes and tutor marked assignments)
  • Tutor marked mock exam

Group lessons take place via Zoom with a maximum group size of 10 to allow all students to participate fully. Where enrolment numbers exceed this, additional classes will be scheduled. Current classes*:

  • Tuesdays at 9am

*all times stated are in UK time.

Frequently Asked Questions

This course covers the CIE iGCSE (9-1) Information and Communication Technology 0983 syllabus. This syllabus is graded from 9 to 1 but is otherwise the same as Cambridge IGCSE Information and Communication Technology (0417).

Does This Course Include Live Tuition?

The course has been designed as a stand-alone distance learning course, but includes access to an optional weekly live class for KS4 ICT students.

How Do I Access The Live Masterclass?

Once you have enrolled for the option which includes live classes, you will have access to the classroom link at the top of your course under the “Course Information” area. If you are having trouble opening the online classroom, please contact us at hello@teachallaboutit.uk

Do I need any additional resources / textbooks?

Whilst the course has been designed to include all of the information required to study towards the ICT iGCSE, you will require access to certain software to allow you to prepare for the practical aspects of the exam.

It is assumed that you will have access to the Microsoft Office 365 suite. Where this is not possible, other office applications may be used but we urge you to contact your exam centre to confirm the software that will be used to sit the practical aspects of your exam.

Does The Course Include Practical IT Skills?

Yes. Paper 2 & 3 of the iGCSE ICT course are both practical papers and as such the skills for each of these are covered in depth within the course.

All practical skills are taught in line with the CIE exam specification.

Will You Cover Solutions for the Current Tasks?

A number of practice tasks are included in the course. However, whilst the tasks are live the exam board asks that these tasks are not shared publically. Whilst some may do so, this would go against our ethical code of practice as we do not check that you have registered with your exam center before accessing the course.

Where we have been given permission to do so, solutions to tasks will be published.

Students can access a copy of their live tasks from their exam centers and should you need further help, please get in touch regarding 1-2-1 tuition.

Do You Include Mock Exams?

Yes. In addition to the shorter quizzes within the course, there is a final quiz for each topic that uses short answer and multiple-choice questions, then two mock exam papers at the end of the course which will be marked by a qualified Computer Science teacher and returned to you with feedback.
