Join Holly for this online workshop for students aged 7-15 where we will be joining together via video link to create a canvas-based self-portrait based on a selfie.
Over the 2.5 hour workshop, we will look at how to turn a digital photo into our self-portrait design, prepare our canvas, and use oil pastels to create the final piece… all with a computer science slant on bitmap technology!
Students will require the following items for the session (purchased separately):
– Set of oil pastels (set of 36, although 50 is better!)
– 40 x 30cm canvas (or A3 sketchbook paper)
– GIMP software (free!)
– A selfie
Each group class is held in our Zoom classroom where Holly will be on camera, but also sharing a camera of her own project to help students navigate the hardware. Any parents wishing to discuss how classes work, please do get in touch.
How Much Does It Cost?
The first ‘test’ workshop on 23rd June is being delivered free of charge to allow me to fully prepare the workshop resources for future sessions.
The course is charged at £20 per session (excludes the cost of equipment) per family. If you have more than one child that wishes to attend, then the cost is the same. Where you are registering for a family with more than one child attending, please add all names to the “child’s name” box when booking.
How Many Students Attend?
We will run the course if we have enrolments from three or more families, and have set a maximum family limit of 10 to enable Holly to give all students individual attention.
