iGCSE Computer Science – Live Lessons

Where you have subscribed to a version of the course with live lessons, you will be sent a link each week to your group session. Each week a new topic is covered to help you access the higher grades for the CIE iGCSE Computer Science specification.

As the specification is in the process of changing, and topic studied within the classes willl be highlighted where they are relevant to you and your tutor will talk you through what to look out for.

Live lessons take place through our Zoom classroom. Please use the links below or from your Student Portal. Class whiteboard links are shown in the table below.

Lesson Etiquete

A register of current students is used to allow access – please ensure that you log in using the same name as your TeachAllAboutIt user account (or a username that you have agreed with your tutor). Unrecognised accounts will not be granted access.

During a live lesson, we will ask you to join with your camera & microphone switched off – microphones may be switched on when answering questions, but muting helps to stop any background noise. You may be requested to turn microphones on but this is your choice and text chat is always available.

When anwering a question using the chat function, please send your answer to your tutor (instead of the whole group) as this gives other students time to answer. Students do not have the facility to directly message each other, and as part of our e-safety policy we ask that you do not disclose any identifying details within the group.

At times, a tutor will use third party software such as mini whiteboards or online quizzes. Where you are asked to enter your name, please use your first name only.

We do not tolerate any form of bullying or discrimination towards other students or our tutors in our sessions and will remove you from the lesson immediately if this occurs.

Lesson Recordings

Just a reminder that we do not share the recording of these sessions for the safety of our students, but a copy is kept on our server for 30 days for safeguarding purposes. We ask that parents ensure that screen recording software is switched off during the session.
